“I will forever let my sister know she is strong, bold, and beautiful,” Gomez said of her sister in 2017. “She will be raised to know her voice matters. She is going to understand the importance behind being a leader and inspire others by her truth.”

In November 2019, Gomez took Gracie as her date to the premiere of Disney’s ‘Frozen 2’ at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

After attending the event, the ‘Only Murders In The Building’ star said “it was the coolest feeling” taking Gracie to the red carpet. “I said to her, ‘This is my favorite carpet I have ever done.’”

She continued, “Because she’s never done any of that and we didn’t force her to do that. Everything we do … to keep her safe, but my sister’s become very dramatic now. She’s all about the dresses, and the glitter.”

The ‘Wizards Of Waverly Place’ actress opened up last year about how much “spending time with [her] little sister” means to her.

“She’s so innocent and pure. She helps me keep perspective on life,” she told her mental health organization Wondermind. “It’s funny because she’s 10; I am 31, and even with such a big age gap I love her advice. She is very wise.”

The singer has been open about her mental health struggles, and while she “[doesn’t] love giving advice because [she doesn’t] have all of the answers.”

“I’d say, though, find a friend or a family member you feel comfortable talking with and open up about what you are feeling. It’s very freeing to open up to someone,” she suggested. “There is so much strength in being vulnerable.”

Gracie is the younger daughter of Selena’s mom Mandy Teefey, and her stepdad Brian Teefey.

Over the years, Selena Gomez has struggled with mental health, but it wasn’t until she went into psychosis in 2018 and checked into a treatment center that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

“I felt like once I found out what was going on mentally, I found that there was more freedom for me to be okay with what I had because I was learning about it,’ she said at the time. “Bringing attention to mental health through media or just by talking about your journeys can help.”

She concluded, “Mental health is very personal for me and I hope that by using my platform to share my own story and working with incredible people like all of you, I can help others feel less alone and find the help they need, which is honestly all I want.”
